Knuckles was carefully walking along the Rock slopes, seeking out the Chaos emerald Silver wind told him Shadow had hidden around here. Since he wasn't that eager to jump off the rocks and plummet to his doom to catch a glimpse of the glittering object, he was merely scanning down-ward from the top edges. The thought of Chaos emeralds brought back thoughts of home, with the Master emerald. With his mind being somewhere else, Knux didn't notice his bleach white paw slip off the edge of the rounded boulder he had been walking on. Snapping back to reality, He jolted up-ward, regaining his balance and managing not to plummet to his doom. Returning to his mission after his "unfortunate" interlude he made a quick scan of the surrounding area and spotted something underneath a huge, slightly rounded rock jutting out from the rockslide last week. Narrowing his eyes, curiosity told him to investigate. Knux shook his head clear of all these distractions, and hurried away from the rock slopes toward the mountains.

That very night, not a single star seemed to shine compared to the unusually close, familiar object hanging in the sky. A Purplish black wolf, a female obviously, slinked down from the mountain slopes with a grace known only by the infamous Spirit Wolves. Several feet away from Earthly ground, the wolf sprung off of the cliff edge she had been shooting down, and performed a graceful dive onto the cool, rocky patch of slate that hugged that side of the mountain. Almost transparent the She-wolf quickly raced over the several miles it took to reach the rock slopes in a matter of a few seconds. Her eyes were like pits, glowing a dark, calming shade of purple. She stalled slightly at the edge of one of the flat rocks that lined the top of the rocky slopes. You could almost see right through the female to the humongous, bone white moon that hung like a looming weight in the seemingly small, blue-black sky. Leaping rock to rock, going at least ten feet at a time, until she reached a long rock jutting out from the rock-slide area. Turning a sharp right, the ghost-like wolf landed perfectly on a small ledge underneath it. The firelight passage spread a glowing, orange like glow over the female, illuminating the light blue stripe down her face that had been practically invisible due to the light of the moon. The swirling, fuzzy mass of mixed colors covered her pelt, varying from her natural purple and black, to the Peachy orange from the torches. Between the torches on both sides, bone white drawings of various creatures were done in Mayan style along the stone walls. Running down the passage, her now visible green eyes gleamed with calm determination. Stopping at a carefully carved, round pedestal topped with non-sparkling dark blue (almost black) crystals, growing clean out of the rock itself. The pearl like moon above filled the room with crystal white light, illuminating ten small passages, each with a white symbol above. The five on the right side of the chamber each belonging to an individual dark spirit wolf, the ones on the left belonging to the light. The She-wolf who had made this journey sat down in front on the pedestal, following the custom of waiting for the next spirit wolf to arrive, if any would at all. The female, Nervanda, held back a yawn as she waited. She had hurriedly made a long journey and it nearly wore her to a frazzle; and there was still so much to get done before the nights end, let alone wait for a single spirit wolf before taking her place at her tunnel, the one at the very back, next to the first of the Dark spirits' tunnels. She shifted her front paws, the ones seeming like they were dipped in lavender. All that was to happen from this point forward until the next spirit (light or dark) arrived was to wait.

(HINT HINT ALL SPIRIT WOLF OWNERS! Very Happy)

Reed bounced on the rocks happily, acting, as always, like a puppy. She hummed a tune as she entered the cave, making it echo as she entered deeper. "Hi, Nervanda!" She sang. "It's Reed!"

Meanwhile, a darker spirit, a mere shadow, slunk along the rock. The wildlife went quiet at the unnatural chill that came and went as she passed. It's eyes were as red as coals, and as it slunk past you could pick up highlights of red. A low growl built in it's throat, but ended. Suddenly, the shadow formed into a spirit wolf, one that everyone knew and hated: Ashia. She turned into a shadow again as the light hit her and she hissed as she entered the brightened cave. She loped along the passageway and slipped into a shadow when she reached the end. "

Nervanda smiled and dipped her head in greeting to Reed, kindly making note of the silent vigil all the spirit wolves needed to keep until the meeting started. ( Ashia = ..female version of.. Mephiles...? affraid ) She turned calmly and padded over to her vein. Just before she sat down, she felt the dark presence of a Dark spirit wander into the cave. Nervanda turned, dipped her head in calm- not hateful, but calm- greeting to the fellow spirit. Turning fully around in front of her tunnel, she sat down. Ok... So, She though with calm, mild pleasure, [i]SOME ONE showed up at least. One Dark spirit and a Light spirit is enough to spread the word if none of the others show up. She glanced around a room a little anxiously; The friendly, panting Reed; The Dark, reclusive Ashia... Lowering her eyes, Nervanda's right hind leg bounced a little- Mimicking the thoughts in her head. ( bounce ) Stopping herself before anyone noticed, she took a silent deep breath, relaxed her mind, and sunk into a deep meditation for a short while.

Reed nodded, and flattened her ears as she sensed Ashia's presence in the cave. Ashia's coal red eyes glowed out of the shadows at her. Ashia barked a cold, rough laugh at Reed's fear and slunk along the wall into the darkest room she could find.

Nervanda sensed Ashia's presence in the cave. At her bark of dark laughter, she growled lowly, warning her to not cause trouble. She was usually the one causing friction between the Light and Dark spirit wolves. Naturally, her presence made her inner essence stir... She gently shifted her front paws, when she felt some sort of energy shift beneath her. She opened her eyes and pricked her ears, swivling them around for any sign of a physical threat. She glanced at Reed, questioning if she had felt it also.
